The process of standardizing the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R, 1974) using Zimbabwean norms With a view to adapting the scale to Zimbabwean culture and milieu was conducted. After the WISC-R was administered by 5 educational psychologists to 300 rural and urban boys and girls aged below nine years (in grades 1, 2, and 3), the data was checked for items that were difficult through the use of differential item techniques, and a revised version of the scale was prepared using Zimbabwean norms.
