The gender issue as it relates to development and peace in Nigeria is examined in this paper. The paper highlights the fact that women as part of the gender issue need to be recognised more as contributors to development in order for peace to be maintained. The gender issue in most countries has become overwhelming along the same line as the need for national development, particularly in the areas of technology. Peace as a factor also has become the focus of urgent attention. This is because development cannot take place where there is no peace.
