Abstract

This study investigated the differential effectiveness of self-management and token reinforcement in the treatment of adolescents' disorderliness. The participants for this study were seventy-two (36 females and 36 males) inmates taken from a cluster of delinquent children (ages 9 - 18) of Remand Homes for boys and girls in Lagos State of Nigeria. Data were collected using Disorderliness Inventory (DI) which has alpha reliability coefficient of .80. The result of the study revealed a significant difference in the effectiveness of self-management and token reinforcement in the treatment of disorderliness (P <.05), gender and socio-economic background of the subject did not interact with the treatments of disorderliness.
