Abstract

Mentoring is an ancient concept. Two thousand years ago, Homer referred to the notion of mentoring in . When Odysseus was faced with a long journey away from home, he left his son Telemachus under the care of his old friend Mentor (Lunsford, 2007). Yet, we know remarkably little about mentoring, including what it means to mentor someone or how the process of mentoring works.
