n IFE PsychologIA : An International Journal - The impact of recreation therapy intervention on festive stress




This study investigated the effectiveness of recreation therapy intervention in the reduction of festive stress among some selected civil servants, teachers inclusive in Oyo State, Nigeria. The study adopted pre-post experimental design. The participants of the study were 150 subjects pre-selected using Festive Mood Stress Scale (FMSS). The age range of participants was between 55 and 62 years. The data analysis utilized for processing of the raw score was Analysis of Co-Variance (ANCOVA). The results of the study indicated that recreation therapy intervention on was effective in the reduction of festive stress. Other strategies for reducing stress during festive season were also suggested.
