The study investigated some factors that could influence vocational training in the garment industry. Entry age and educational background appeared as strong factors affecting how fast training period could be. Entry age of 16 years and minimum educational background of J.S.S.C. were found to be suitable for successful training. The part played by other factors such as socio-economic background, natural endowment and frequent interruption of training were discussed. Policy guidelines were suggested to improve vocational training in the garment industry.
This is an historical outline of archival legislation in four British West African subregions. The scope is limited to these countries because they have the same historical background as they were British colonies. The realization of the importance of legislation to archival institutions in developed countries and paradoxically the poor recognition of it in many developing countries and its implications on archive administration and records keeping that has motivated this write-up.
