Mental illness is dependent on the social order of a society. It is also reflected in different manifestations and therapies emanating from different cultures of different societies. The medical and psychological disciplines have established general principles regulating human behaviour and experience. These principles have universal application. However principles regulating human behaviour have to be observed and communicated. Communication in humans implies language and language implies culture which also includes attitudes and mental sets .
