oa IFE PsychologIA : An International Journal - Integration/mainstreaming a pragmatic approach for Nigeria
This paper argues that the integration or mainstreaming movement in special needs education now going on in different countries of the world, is not necessarily compelled by good educational wisdom and practice, but by soclo-economic, administrative and political forces. A resume of research evidence along this line is provided. So also are research findings, which indicate no clear positive gains in academic and social achievements by disabled students in integration.
