oa IFE PsychologIA : An International Journal - Evaluative dimensions of students' residential facilities
This paper identifies and defines the underlying dimensions of students affective responses to their residential facilities. Using the affective criterion of satisfaction. the responses of 1.124 students to forty-nine attributes of some of their residential facilities were factor analyzed. Six factors, which accounted for 48.6% of the total variance were extracted using the principal components method. The results showed that the dimensions were related to spatial and physical aspects of the environment and that in these were subsumed the more social, psychological and experiential variables. The most important and significant dimension was related to ""bedroom quality and social density "".
