Between 1980 and 1985 when the Nigerian University System was still relatively robust in terms of staff/student ratio, leqel of funding and quality of teaching, 322 graduate-students completed the University of Lagos Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree programme. These students who came mainly from six faculties, namely social sciences, business administration, biological science, engineering, physical sciences and earth sciences had their scores on the various courses extracted, totaled and then averaged on a faculty by faculty basis.
