oa Graphix - Still going strong 40 years on : 40th anniversary

Abstract

Looking back at where it all started, the magazine was acquired in 1998 by IHS South Africa (now Infixion Media), from Brian Stickland, who owned a publishing business named Royal Publications. At the time, Stickland published a number of titles, including Digital Media, with GRAPHIX being the flagship title. It was a positive gain for IHS, as the magazines were cutting edge and regarded as leading industry titles - with Digital Media almost being 'ahead of its time'. Stickland stayed on at IHS for a couple of years, after which his contract ended, and he moved to Australia to launch his own online publication, Wide Format On-line.
