Abstract

Well-known Western Cape olive and olive oil producer, Willow Creek Olive Estate, recently launched an ingenious new packaging solution called Snap & Squeeze. These handy, single-serving sachets, a first for the South African market, are filled with eight millilitres of the estate's award-winning Directors' Reserve Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Cabernet Sauvignon Balsamic Style Vinegar respectively. The company has acquired the patent rights to package olive oil, vinegar and salad dressings in the Snap & Squeeze sachets. Conventional sachets require both hands to dispense a liquid, which can be an awkward, time consuming and frequently messy experience. With the patented Snap & Squeeze design, there is no chance of a sachet tearing, leaking or splattering.
