The Consumer Protections Act (CPA) which became law on 1 April 2011 places onerous obligations on manufacturers of product to make information available to the consumer pertaining to a product that is in understandable language and is not misleading in any manner or form. In addition, the CPA introduces a form of strict liability in respect of harm caused by unsafe goods or goods which do not display adequate warnings regarding the hazards associated with this use.
