The term 'biologics', or 'biological drugs', can be used to refer to a wide range of biological products in medicine. However, in most cases, the term is used more commonly for a class of medicines (approved or still in development) that are produced by means of biological processes involving what is known as recombinant DNA technology, says Kirti Narsai, spokesperson for the Biologics Working Group (BWG).
