n South African Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Review - Untangling the ethnic hair segment

USD

Abstract

Because of its highly elliptic cross section, dryness and high amount of curl, ethnic hair fibres are likely to be more damaged than other hair types such as Asian or Caucasian. Strong treatments like chemical relaxing, colouring and straightening can make the fibres more fragile and cuticle damage or hair loss occurs more often than in other hair types. Ethnic hair also tends to tangle, knot and break easily.
