After a little more than a century, the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE), the 'learned society' established in 1903, has found a permanent home in Midrand. The building at Thornhill Office Park was officially opened by SAICE President, Mike Deeks, on 13 April during an interesting basement 'smoker' celebration, fondly remembered by many engineers from their university days.
