IMIESA MAY 2005 - 25 WATER AND WASTEWATER Eastern Cape groundwater find Modern satellite imagery has helped identify impressive groundwater resources in the Emalahleni Local Municipal area, which have exceeded expectations. Fifteen boreholes have been sunk, with one delivering a remarkable 66 litres per second (airlift yield) - capable of filling an average-sized swimming pool in only six minutes.
