Extracted from text ... SHORTCUTS Hectares of concrete surfaces are being laid in the Port of Durban as South Africa's harbour infrastructural development programme gains momentum. About 155 000 square metres of concrete surfacing are being laid by Protekon Port Solutions (PPS) at the Port of Durban's new point berths D to G, while the pre-mix surface will be replaced with concrete paving at the Durban Container Terminal (DCT). The contract from the National Ports Authority (NPA) for the point berths involves the surfacing of about 20 hectares - the equivalent of 40 soccer fields.
