Extracted from text ... A new BEE contractor has recently completed a contract to lay 4 000 m2 of clay pavers along Edwin Swales Drive in Durban. The job entailed paving pathways, road medians and central islands along this very busy stretch of road. The eThekwini Municipality selected this method of paving to prevent weeds from growing between pavers, which happens when sand is used for grouting the joints. This contract was carried out under particularly adverse conditions, as pedestrians were constantly walking over the paths while they were being laid.
