n IMIESA - Efficiency and effectiveness aspects of petroleum pipeline operations : pipes, pumps and valves

USD

Abstract

With a mounting supply crisis resulting from the capacity constraints of Transnet Freight Rail and the existing petroleum pipelines and local refineries, petroleum marketers are compelled to import petroleum products and transport them by road to the interior of the country. This is more expensive than pipeline transport, places pressure on road infrastructure capacity, and is a more dangerous method of carrying petroleum products.
