The late Reverend Dr. Abraham Ako Akrong, known to his colleagues as 'Revo', was appointed to the Research Fellowship in the Institute of African Studies (IAS), University of Ghana, Legon, on September 1, 1996. By then he had already obtained his doctorate degree from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, and had had several years of tertiary level teaching experience both in Ghana and in the US. He lectured on African Theology and Philosophy of Religion at the Trinity College, Legon, from 1978 to1984. He was Adjunct-Professor of Theology at the MacCormick Theological Seminary, Chicago, from 1993 to 1995. Between 1991 and 1993 he held Visiting Professorships in African Theology and Christianity at Louisville Theological Seminary (1991); at the Catholic Theological Union, Chicago (1992); and at the School of Art, University of Chicago (1993), all in the US.
