Under the terms of its charter of incorporation, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation Television, popularly known as GBC-Television, is expected to reflect and propagate the views and ideology of the government. Thus, since its inception, GBCTelevision has been used over the years by the various governments of the day as a mediumfor educating the nation on government policy. The CPP government of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah made an aggressive use of it in the sense that under it GBCTelevision was turned into an arm of the party.
