Abstract

Responding to suggestions from the research fellowship of the Institute of African Studies for a re-branded which began publication in the early 1960s soon after the establishment of the Institute, the old title has now been replaced with a new title - . It has to be conceded that in this computer age when it is customary to publish online and to search for articles and publications via Google and other search engines, the older title of 'Research Review' would present difficulties for speedy online searching, since the keywords in the title are to be found in many journal titles. It is hoped that the new title will fare better in this respect, even if it presents its own challenges, such as the possibility that some readers might confuse (CJAS) with a similar sounding journal title - the Journal of Contemporary African Studies.
