The current issue - Vol. 3. No.1, of the (CJAS), is the fifth in the series under this title, the successor to the of the Institute of African Studies. It may be recalled that responding to suggestions from the research fellowship of the Institute of African Studies for a re-branding of the , which began publication in the early 1960s soon after the establishment of the Institute, the old title was replaced in 2012 by this new title - .
