Abstract

School libraries are a vital part of the education system. This article highlights the contribution made by the Education Library Information and Technology Services (ELITS) directorate of the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education, to the development and resourcing of school libraries in public schools in KwaZulu-Natal. These challenges are discussed together with the strategies that have been employed to overcome them.
