The August 2004 edition of the (Volume 4, Edition 1) published a paper on educational leadership reporting on research using a phenomenological research design. The article was accompanied by a request for submissions in and on education using or drawing on phenomenological methodologies. The eight papers in this edition are the result, and I am delighted to have been tasked with writing this brief route map through the pages that follow.
