Steven Beresford's directorial debut in West End theatre was pleasant rather than stunning, and one came away with a sense of the possibilities he had envisioned, more than those he had realized. The show opens with a tropical monsoon, sponsor of comedy's shipwreck. The setting is present-day India, a run-down street in a large city.
