The Competition Appeal Court has granted the Competition Commission leave to withdraw its appeal against the quantum of the administrative penalty imposed on Pioneer Foods (as part of the orders made by the Competition Tribunal on February 3 2010 following its findings in the so called bread cartel case that Pioneer Foods had contravened s4(1)(b) of the Competition Act, 1998 by fixing the price of bread with its competitors).
