Abstract

There is very little news in Australia. Mass protests, genocide, avaricious dictators and licentious politicians which are the unusual grist for the mill of journalists are absent from this country. As a result anything that is newsworthy gets front page treatment repetitively. One such item is the proposed mining tax, which brought down Rudd and may yet be the nemesis of Gillard (if the proposed carbon tax doesn't get her first).
