There's a great deal of debate at present about a ban on alcohol advertising, with Health Minister, Aaron Motsoaledi, doing much of the talking. Such a ban will no doubt have a profound effect on the advertising industry. Whether or not it will have a similar effect on alcohol consumption remains to be seen. What is very likely, however, is that the alcohol companies will look for creative ways of avoiding the ban. Like the tobacco industry did recently.
