The Citzen v McBride
Robert John McBride (McBride) was an operative of Umkhonto we Sizwe, the military wing of the ANC, during apartheid. On June 14 1986, McBride carried out a car bomb attack outside the Magoo's Bar and Why Not Restaurant on the Durban beachfront. The explosion killed three young women and injured 69 people. McBride was found guilty of murder and was sentenced to death.
