Government says it plans to inject approximately R845bn into public infrastructure projects over the next three years, with a further R4tr over the following 15 years. In light of this policy, the Draft Infrastructure Development Bill was introduced to complement and continue the work done by the Presidential Infrastructure Co-ordinating Commission (PICC); inaugurated in September 2011, and is tasked with developing a twenty year infrastructure pipeline.
