As the boundaries of what is seen as acceptable broadcasting are broadened and a greater scope is created for what now amounts to acceptable satire, the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa is faced with the dilemma of finding a balance between what constitutes satire and what amounts to hate speech based on either race, gender or, in this particular context, religion.
