The National Development Plan (NDP) states that between 1994 and 2010 government succeeded in providing access to basic water supplies to at least 46.3m South Africans. In addition, access to improved sanitation increased from 18.5m million to 39.4m. If numbers are the only thing to rely on, the figures indicate a good track record.

Though Windows Phone was rather well designed, it did not become a blazing success, but that was to be expected. Microsoft and Nokia entered the game very late. A new mobile world had emerged - a vast landscape of apps. It no longer mattered whether your operating system was better designed or similarly equipped to iOS and Android - people want their Apps.

Andrea Mullineux recently became the fifth woman to be invited to join the prestigious Cape Winemakers Guild since its inception in 1982. Currently one of only two woman in the 46 member Guild, Andrea joins Rianie Strydom who has been a member of the Cape Winemakers Guild since 2010. This membership-by-invite-only association represents the cream of South African winemakers and will hopefully see more woman winemakers join in the near future.
