We live in an age where quality sound recording technology is at everyone's fingertips. In the office environment it is almost impossible to exercise control over what employees record. For example, an employee could easily secretly record a private discussion with the employer and later seek to use it as evidence at the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) in support of a claim.
