Abstract

Zimbabwe's fragile economy is characterised by a growth slowdown, a large external deficit and low international reserves. Zimbabwe's combined domestic and external debt stands at $9,909bn. The country's external debt, most of which has fallen into arrears, has prevented the country from accessing international capital markets.
