n Without Prejudice - Out of Line, Dov Fedler : lifestyle books - book review

When I was a little girl, my father - a well-known artist - took it into his head that maybe I had a talent for cartooning. He invited his friend Dov Fedler around to have a look at my drawings and see what he thought. Dov was kind, and admired my attempts. He suggested that I work on closing my lines (not leaving gaps where one line meets another) and said, "Here, I'll show you what I mean." As I watched Dov draw, I knew that whatever talent I had was miniscule in relation to Dov's. I didn't put away my pencil but thereafter I wielded it with a healthy respect for real cartoonists.
