Abstract

As winter approaches the frequency of visits to the GP is inevitably set to increase as it does every year at this time. Interestingly, even against a backdrop of seemingly systemic medical inflation, in most cases during these visits no questions or discussions arise about the cost of the consultation. Does this mean that we are unaware of the costs we incur when visiting our GPs? I don't believe so, but it does indicate that there is a shared and trusted understanding of the quantum and nature of those costs. More importantly, we can justify these costs because of an alignment to the value of services rendered.
