Abstract

recently reported that people are drinking less wine and that the global recession appears to have accelerated this disappointing trend. The effect of the recession was confirmed by Wine of the Month Club; this indicates that it is a myth that people drink more in an economic downturn - on the contrary, economic downturns act to drive people away from drink.
