Until recently, I was employed by an international bank doing business in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, and tasked with managing legal and regulatory risks across 14 African jurisdictions. I had been invited to attend a round table conference, which a leading London law firm hosted for its associates across Africa in Dubai. On the agenda was a discussion on business trends and legal developments across Africa, the Middle East and Asia and how best the needs of domestic and international customers may be served.
