The Human Genome Project, launched in January 1B89, is thought to be the most ambitious biological enterprise ever undertaken. In terms of manpower (thousands of workers), expense (an estimated US $3 billion), and time (15 years), the effort to determine the composition of DNA, molecule by molecule, is a truly impressive endeavour.
Nasal stuffiness is a common complaint affecting all age groups from neonates to the elderly; it is a particularly gratifying symptom to evaluate because it is usually possible on the basis of the patientï¿½s history and physical examination, together with the results of special investigations, to diagnose accurately and to treat effectively patients presenting with symptoms of nasal dysfunction.

A detailed history and thorough clinical examination are still the mainstay of assessment and diagnosis in children who present with musculoskeletal pain. It is tempting to find a disease label at the time of initial consultation but in most children careful clinical observation is a more valuable tool than radiology, pathology and nuclear scanning.
