Abstract

�Chronic obstructive airways disease� (COAD) is a term used commonly for a collection of respiratory problems occurring in adults, characterized by slowing of forced expiratory airflow and resulting in a variety of symptoms. It includes asthma, chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
