Our patient is Mrs A, a hypertensive porphyric with a blood pressure of 180/105. Her medication consists of piroxicam (Feldene), ethinyl oestradiol (Estinyl), ranitidine (Zantac), and a combination antihypertensive consisting of clopamide (a thiazide diuretic), reserpine (centrally-acting hypotensive), and dihydroergocristine (an ergot type preparation used for peripheral vascular disease).
