Abstract

One third of the world’s surface consists of grassland, but 70% thereof has been degraded. However, producers are coming to realise that grasslands can be the genesis of an incredibly strong economy, more self-sufficient communities and the basis of miraculously renewable food production. The term ‘holistic’ is derived from öλος holos, a Greek word meaning “all”, “whole”, “entire” and “total”, which embodies the concept discussed in this article
