Abstract

In the preface to , edited by Heidi Schoeman, assisted by nine contributing authors, it is stated that the book is "mainly aimed at non-law [banking and credit management] students" (v). With this in mind, aiming the book at "banking and credit management … practitioners" as well might be somewhat ambitious. Such practitioners, even though they are not lawyers, might need the "variety of comprehensive legal texts" on one or more of the various subjects covered in the book (see below), and would in all likelihood also need to revert to actual legislation and regulations. It is, nevertheless, important to keep in mind throughout this review, that the book is not aimed at LLB students, or, for that matter, legal advisers, attorneys and advocates - "[t]he syllabi for the National Diplomas in Banking and Credit Management, respectively, informs the contents of the text."
