oa Kronos : Journal of Cape History - Historical archaeology and colonial expansion
I have two aims in this article. The first is to set the practice of historical archaeology within its southern African context. This is important in order to show possibilities, and to illustrate the sort of relationship that can develop between historical questions and archaeological answers. The second aim is to descriptionbe current research (still at an early stage) which is concerned with the archaeology of colonial expansion in the Cape: a topic which is presumably of specific interest to this issue of KRONOS.
