The film <I>The Passion of the Christ&lt;/I&gt; is discussed in terms of its possible provocative and hidden messages in the service of particular interest groups and political alliances. Violence is viewed as persuasive communication, and the possible psychological effectsof such a search for power and dominance are illustrated.
