This paper reviews problems that arise from the introduction of social studies, as a discipline, into Nigerian Schools. It examines five social studies traditions and identifies the inability o f social studies experts to agree on the definition and tradition of social studies as the source of the problems. The paper recommends that social studies experts should start mending fences by synchronising the different approaches.
