Abstract

Refractive surgery corrects myopia, astigmatism and hyperopia. Spectacles and contact lenses are still a good option for patients who tolerate them well. However, the modern method of refractive correction is with surgery. Excimer laser ablation of the cornea, or lens implants, are the procedures most widely used.
