Abstract

Injury of skeletal muscle, either severe accidental injury or microdamage as a result of exercise training, is an inevitable outcome of participation in sport, as is the inflammation that follows. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are probably the most widely used anti-inflammatory treatment.
